Summer Camp

Three Sessions for Diverse Age Groups

Buzz into Adventure! This summer, your child can dive into the fascinating world of honeybees with our immersive beekeeping camp. We offer three age-specific sessions designed to spark curiosity, cultivate environmental awareness, and introduce potential careers related to bees and sustainability.

Session 1: Little Buzzers (Ages 5-9)

  • Focus: Playful, hands-on activities to introduce basic bee anatomy, pollination, and honey production.

  • Activities: Bee-themed story time, building bee hotels, planting pollinator-friendly gardens, creating honey art projects.

  • Potential future careers: Apiarist (beekeeper), environmental educator, nature writer, urban garden designer.

Session 2: Junior Apiculturists (Ages 10-14)

  • Focus: In-depth exploration of bee behavior, hive management, and honey extraction with supervised practice.

  • Activities: Observing live bees, assisting with hive inspections, extracting and processing honey, designing bee-friendly landscapes.

  • Potential future careers: Apiculturist, bee scientist, honeybee researcher, agricultural technologist, sustainable food advocate.

Session 3: Teen Beehive (Ages 15-18)

  • Focus: Advanced beekeeping techniques, entrepreneurship, and exploring career paths in STEM and sustainability.

  • Activities: Designing and building beehives, honey product marketing and branding, guest speakers from beekeeping businesses, field trips to apiaries and honey processing facilities.
