We believe that anyone can become a beekeeping steward with the right resources and support. Our mission is to provide an affordable and accessible starter kit that equips beginners with the essential equipment and knowledge to embark on their beekeeping journey confidently.
The "Beekeeper-in-a-Box" kit contains the following:
Hive Options: Choose between two options; a food-grade cardboard hive or a cleaned and inspected wooden beehive box. Both options come with removable inner covers and screened ventilation holes.
Frames: 10 wooden frames with pre-waxed foundation are included for ease of use. Alternatively, choose stick frames made from strong sticks and natural twine, with base plates from woven palm leaves or thin wood slats.
Protective Gear: Ensure your safety with either a simple veil made from mosquito netting or a pair of thick gardening gloves or repurposed cloth gloves.
Smoker: Tend to your bees efficiently with a small metal can smoker, filled with dry leaves or wood shavings. Instructions for creating a bellows from cardboard or palm leaves are also provided.
Feeder: Choose between a simple mason jar inverted over a frame feeder tray or a plastic bottle feeder designed for sugar syrup feedings.
Additional Resources:
Pollen Palacee: A comprehensive booklet or pamphlet covering hive management, honey extraction, and basic bee biology. Local resources for further learning are also included.
Planting Guide: Information on planting bee-friendly flowers and native plants to attract pollinators and support your bees.
